Beat the Keystone Hops by 43 points to win the Keystone Cup! The competition was a great success and this year’s entries number 450! $1 from every entrant will be donated to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. There were several folks with chests full of medals. The following club members were awarded medals: Dave "Hercules" Barber (7 medals), Tom Sup/Chris Becker (5 medals), Dave Drummer (3 medals), Mike Manning (2 medals), Josh Bushey (2 medals), Chris Bowen, (2 medals). Curt Keck, Judy Parsons, Dan Brady, Josh Baran, Bob Piano/Scott Minnich, and Kris Kwant all received 1 medal each. Finally, Wayne Maus received a 2nd runner up BOS, with Bob Piano shining in the spotlight with his BOS Metheglin.

Harvest Festival (Held in Bethlehem) & Garlic Fest (Held in Easton) are coming up soon! October 3rd is once again the date for both local festivals, Harvestfest held on Main St and Garlicfest held in Easton. We are looking for volunteers to come out help in Easton it’s usually a good time for all.

Abe's Cold Beer Grand Re-Opening (October 8, 2009). We’ve have been invited to serve beer along with several regional breweries and distributors on Thursday night from 4pm - 8pm, right in the parking lot at Abe’s. Just another opportunity to get our name and presence out there! Come on out and enjoy some free beer!

Allentown Craft Beer Festival - Allentown Brew Works bier gaarden (November 7, 2009). We will be serving beer
at this event and will be holding a keg only competition at our meeting on Oct. 27, 2009 to decide the top 6 beers to
represent the Lehigh Valley Homebrewers. The competition will be sponsored by Keystone Homebrew Supply, and will
consist of popular voting by anyone present at the October meeting. Let us know if you are interested in bringing
your full 5 gallon keg(s) with you in October if you're hoping to compete.

Stoney Creek Homebrewer's Amature Brewing Championship - SCH holding their annual competition on Nov 14th. The entry deadline is 10/31 with entries being accepted as early as 10/19. See the previous link for details. Let’s get a good showing at this event!

Teach-a-Friend to Homebrew Day. November 14th is the date for our Fall Big Brew event at Chris Becker’s farm. This event is open brewing and we’ll have burgers and dogs for lunch. Bring something for the snack table, the club will also be providing donuts, bagels, muffins and coffee.

Malt Madness Label Competition (Nov. 24, 2009) - in an effort to generate more interest as well as some
money for charity, we will be holding our first label competition. This event will cost $1 per entry with ALL
proceeds going to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Based on the turn out of this event, we anticipate
making this a combined part of Malt Madness in the future. For entry forms
