August 2022 Lehigh Valley Homebrewers Newsletter

Summer's winding down but our favorite hobby is as active as 98 degree Kveik fermentation! We just wrapped up Malt Madness and our club made a great showing racking up medals and taking the Best in Show 1st and 2nd places! Congratulations to Dave Barber and Preston Klingseis! Check out all our wins on the official site. Our August meeting will be at 5 Maidens Cider Company and we'll set up the prize table for anyone who wasn't able to attend the competition.

I'd like to thank everyone that submitted entries, got prizes donated, judged or stewarded! I'd especially like to recognize the efforts of Mel Homik, Joe Kalinosky, and Melissa Titus who took on the responsibility of critical organizational roles for the competition. Malt Madness would not have happened without their dedication and time. Finally, I'd like to thank all our generous sponsors who filled up the prize shelves at Retriever Brewing Company.

We've been invited to participate in a couple new events, two of which occur Labor Day weekend - please RSVP if you are able to make it so we can make a call if we can participate. As always, please let me know if you have any questions, comments or concerns.

Brew on!

LVHb Club President

Future Meetings:

Meetings are open to anyone (21 and older) who home brews (beer, wine, cider, mead) or is interested in learning about home brewing.  Our club has over 30 certified judges and several members who have "gone pro" by opening their own brewery, meadery, or distillery! - So bring your latest craft creation and get some constructive feedback and/or accolades!
