Greetings Brewers,
Our meeting this month will be a week early on Tuesday October 22nd, at Gallows Hill Distilling in Allentown. Queen V Wraps food truck will be joining us this month, so come hungry!
November will be club elections. If you are interested in serving as an officer (and enjoying fabulous perks like penning these delightful newsletters), nominations will be open at the October and November meetings. You can self-nominate or put forth any Member you think would be willing to serve. See any of the officers to do so. On the fence, and want more information? The current officers will be happy to talk to you about the commitment and responsibilities their role entails.
For those of you participating in the October HBoTY event, we will be running the judging through Stoney Creek's Hombrew Competition. Registration is open, and entries are due 10/27. Feel free to bring your entries to the meeting and we can deliver them for you.
We will be celebrating Learn to Homebrew day at Country Club Brewing on November 2nd! A couple brewers are bringing their electric systems to demo for interested patrons, and all club members are invited to come answer questions, help teach, and participate in a commercial brew day on Country Club's system, mash in beginning at 8am. Come and go as you please!
Thanks to everyone who brewed or helped serve at the Blue Collar Scholarship beer festival and the SteelStacks beer festival! The season is winding down for 2024, but keep an eye on the events page for 2025!
Do you need a tasting cup that will be hard to lose, and harder to break? Rob put together an order for 8oz stainless steel carabiner cups, emblazoned with the club logo! These will be available at the meeting for $10/ea.
Finally, the usual reminder that we've been looking for an alternative with a low barrier to entry for notifying those interested in news, festival opportunities, or event reminders, etc. outside of the monthly newsletter cycle. To this end, we've created the "LVHB News" Google Group. If you're interested, you should be able to search for lvhb-news@googlegroups.com in the Google Groups search and request to join.
See you Tuesday,
Steve Anthony
LVHb Club President
