February 2025 Lehigh Valley Homebrewers Newsletter

Steve Anthony

Greetings Brewers,

A reminder that our meeting will be on Tuesday, February 25th, at Sage Alley Brewing in Coopersburg, PA. They're closed to the public that day, but their kitchen will be open for those who want food. The menu is available here; they will be open beginning at 6:30pm and we have a hard out at 9:30pm this month.

A reminder that it's time for dues! If you're interested in the AHA + club dues bundle at $45, you must pay by the 26th! Otherwise, the rate is $25 for new and existing members. See the website for details and a link to pay.

Malt Madness is coming up! No you're not crazy, we've decided to move the event to May 10th in conjunction with Lehigh Valley Beer Week! We hit out cap of 150 entries and raised it to 175, so if you have a last minute addition enter now. Once we hit that new cap, we don't anticipate expanding it further.

As part of Malt Madness, the Lehigh Valley Homebrewers and Lehigh Valley Beer Week are proud to present CRAFTED, a Malt Madness homebrew tasting event, May 10th from noon-3pm at the Spinnerstown Hotel. This will be a free to the public ticketed event, followed by the awards ceremony for Malt Madness. We will be looking for volunteers to help run the event day of, so watch the Events page for opportunities to sign up!

Valhalla results are finally out and we're happy to announce our winners for Homebrewer of the Year for 2024!

  • 1st Place, John Litak

  • 2nd Place, Joe Eberhardt

  • 3rd Place, Rob Myers

Congratulations to our winners and a reminder that we will be pausing the competition for the first couple months of 2025 while we look to revisit the format. If you have ideas, let us know.

New merch will be available to order at the meeting. We're doing a run on short and long sleeve T-shirts featuring new art from Jon Billet at Wishful Thinking. Short sleeves will be $20 and long sleeves $25.

Finally, the usual reminder that we've been looking for an alternative with a low barrier to entry for notifying those interested in news, festival opportunities, or event reminders, etc. outside of the monthly newsletter cycle. To this end, we've created the "LVHB News" Google Group. If you're interested, you should be able to search for lvhb-news@googlegroups.com in the Google Groups search and request to join.

See you Tuesday,

Steve Anthony

LVHB Club President
