April 2026 Lehigh Valley Homebrewers Newsletter

Greetings Brewers,

Our meeting this month will be on Tuesday, April 28th, at the Lost Tavern Brewing in Hellertown, PA. Note that we will be meeting at the brew house, not the taproom. The brew house is down the street, behind the Dunkin' at 726 Main Street. Our meeting, as usual will start at 7:30PM. There's no food available at the venue this month, so make sure to eat something before showing up.

A final reminder for dues! The officers and board of directors met in January and have decided to set dues for new and existing members at $35 for 2026. The first updated membership roster has gone out to our local homebrew supply shops, so if you have not renewed yet, please do so now! We've ordered reusable name tags for members to wear at the meetings, but you also need to renew to get one. You can renew online or pay in person at the meeting.

THANK YOU to everyone who volunteered to help with Malt Madness XX and CRAFTED! While we had some bad luck with the weather this year, we still had a fantastic turnout and a great time, raising over $5000 between the two events! A special thanks to Rob Myers, Dan Miller, Joe Eberhardt, Griffin Weaver, and Dennis McWhite for coordinating these events, and for Spinnerstown Hotel for hosting us!

While it's nice that these events are accomplished for the year, we have a lot coming up in May! The club will be at First Friday at the National Museum of Industrial History to serve beer for their Cheers to 250! Brewing in America exhibit preview night on May 1, and at the exhibit opening on May 16th, register on the events page here and here if you're interested in helping out!

May 2nd, we'll be back at Yergey Brewing for Big Brew! Thanks to everyone who registered to come out and help brew the Belgian Pale Ale for this event. If you were unable to commit to brewing, please feel free to come hang out with the club anyway, it's always nice to have extra sets of hands to take over if someone needs to step away for a minute.

On May 7th at 6:30pm, come out to McCall Brewing (Breinigsville) to celebrate the release of their collaboration beer with Rob, Kraken Krisp. There will be a competition with another lager brewed by Matt McCall, come out and vote for your favorite!

A reminder that the Kreidersville Covered Bridge Festival is June 6th and 7th, and is a great opportunity to serve your beer to the public in support of the last covered bridge in Northampton. Start brewing now, and RSVP if you're able to make it!

Finally, the usual reminder that we've been looking for an alternative with a low barrier to entry for notifying those interested in news, festival opportunities, or event reminders, etc. outside of the monthly newsletter cycle. To this end, we've created the "LVHB News" Google Group. If you're interested, you should be able to search for lvhb-news@googlegroups.com in the Google Groups search and request to join.

See you Tuesday,

Steve Anthony

LVHB Club President
