January 2024 Lehigh Valley Homebrewers Newsletter

Happy New Year Brewers,

Welcome to another year of brewing! Our meeting this month will be on Tuesday January 30th, at Taylor House Brewing in Catasauqua. They're closed to the public on Tuesdays, so remember to grab something to eat before the meeting. Remember to bring cash if you ordered a shirt at the Holiday Party! Membership renewals will be opening up soon, watch your email for the renewal link.

We had an excellent turnout for the Homebrewer of the Year competition in 2024 with over 30 brewers participating. We'll announce the overall HBoTY winner at the January meeting, as well as the line up and changes for the 2024 competition. For those of you who can't make it, the first style for March is Tropical Stout. We'll be running the judging for this leg through the Garden State Homebrew Competition, so make sure to register and pay for your entry. We'll work to coordinate drop off locally, with the club transporting entries to Brew Hardware before the deadline on the 23rd of February.

A big thanks to McCall Brewing Collective for hosting our annual Holiday Party in December and to everyone who was able to join us for this event! There were some great entries for the label contest and prizes for those winners to follow.

Congratulations to Judy, Brian, Adam, and the rest of the team at Keystone Homebrew Supply on their successful move to Keystone's new home in Souderton, PA! They're open, so stop by to say hello and grab supplies for the HBoTY competitions, or place an order for pickup at Bonn Place Brewing.

Finally, there are a couple events this weekend that may be of interest to everyone. Hijinx Brewing Company will be celebrating the grand opening of their new location at 6616 Ruppsville Rd in Upper Macungie, so stop by and help them celebrate. Additionally, Deer Creek Malthouse will be doing a pop up market at Lit Coffee Roastery and Bakeshop on Saturday from 9am-2pm. Matt has offered to bring orders for pickup, so if you're interested, select local pickup and put Bethlehem in the notes section on the order form.

See you on Tuesday,

Steve Anthony

LVHb Club President
