September 2026 Lehigh Valley Homebrewers Newsletter

4 min read

Greetings Brewers,

Our meeting this month will be on Monday, September 28th, at Yergey Brewing in Emmaus, PA. They are open to the public on Monday so stop by early to grab something to eat from Tré Woodfired's food truck. Our meeting, as usual, will start at 7:30PM. Note that Yergey's closes at 9PM, so we will be finished at that time.

A reminder that Saturday October 10th, the club is planning to serve at a Oktoberfest charity event at Coplay Saengerbund from 4-7pm.This event will be raising money for Alzheimer's research through the Lehigh Valley Walk to End Alzheimer's. We'd love to have a couple more things to serve, so register on the events page is you're available or have something to send.

Sunday, October 25th, the club will be back at the annual Engineers without Borders fundraising event at DeSales University from 1-5pm. This event supports the professional chapter of the Lehigh Valley to build a better world through engineering projects that empower communities to meet their basic human needs. See Joe Kalinosky if you're available to send something or come out and help serve.

Given all these festivals, are you RAMP certified? The Responsible Alcohol Management Program Server/Seller training is being offered through the club again this year on Saturday November 14. If your certification will be expiring this year, or if you'd like to become certified, sign up now as seats are limited. A reminder that some festivals, eg. Arts Quest Steelstacks Beer Fest, require that you be RAMP certified to participate.

Thanks to everyone who came out to help at Keystone Homebrew Supply's Club Barrel Brew Day! The Wheatwine is fermenting away and we're all looking forward to trying it at Judgement Day next year!

Thanks to everyone who came out for LV Pride and First Friday at the National Museum of Industrial History this past month as well. We had quite the crowd this year at Pride and some of the most genuine interest I've seen from a festival crowd in quite a while. Hopefully we'll see some new faces eager to learn more about homebrewing! We raised $200 in donations for the Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center and had a great time.

Finally, the usual reminder that we've been looking for an alternative with a low barrier to entry for notifying those interested in news, festival opportunities, or event reminders, etc. outside of the monthly newsletter cycle. To this end, we've created the "LVHB News" Google Group. If you're interested, you should be able to search for lvhb-news@googlegroups.com in the Google Groups search and request to join.

See you Tuesday,

Steve Anthony

LVHB Club President
