October 2026 Lehigh Valley Homebrewers Newsletter

Greetings Brewers,

Our meeting this month will be on Tuesday, October 27th, at Hijinx Brewing in Tatamy, PA. For those of you who haven't been recently, this is their new home next to the Tatamy Fire Company; they are no longer at the old Harrison St. location in Allentown. Our meeting, as usual, will start at 7:30PM, make sure you have something to eat before heading over.

Teach a Friend to Homebrew day is fast approaching! Chris Becker has offered to host the club again at his home in Northampton, PA on November 7th. Come out with your gear and ingredients and brew whatever recipe strikes your fancy. If you're looking for ideas, consider this Wee Heavy recipe we're planning to put into an ex-bourbon barrel in December. Make sure you RSVP on the events page, and let us know if you're planning to brew, or just coming to hang out. And remember, this is a great opportunity to bring a friend who's interested in getting into brewing!

Club elections are coming up in November and there will be several option positions, as Rob, Ginger, and I will all be stepping down. If you're interested in taking up the (mostly modest) responsibilities for participating in the coordination to keep the club events and fun running, or think someone would be a good fit, nominations will happen at the October and November meetings, with an election to follow in November. If you have questions about the time commitment and responsibilities, or are otherwise on the fence, feel free to talk to one of the officers!

Thanks to everyone who came out or provided beer and cider for the Oktoberfest charity event at Coplay Saengerbund, and to Joe Eberhardt for acting as the point person for this event. The fundraiser for Alzheimer's research through the Lehigh Valley Walk to End Alzheimer's raised almost $2000!

Finally, the usual reminder that we've been looking for an alternative with a low barrier to entry for notifying those interested in news, festival opportunities, or event reminders, etc. outside of the monthly newsletter cycle. To this end, we've created the "LVHB News" Google Group. If you're interested, you should be able to search for lvhb-news@googlegroups.com in the Google Groups search and request to join.

See you Tuesday,

Steve Anthony

LVHB Club President
