April 2023 Lehigh Valley Homebrewers Newsletter

Greetings Brewers,

Our April meeting will be pushed back a week to May 2 to correspond with Malt Mania at Two Rivers Brewing in Easton, as part of Lehigh Valley Beer Week. Note that we will be starting at 6PM, rather than the usual 7:30PM start time. It's been a couple years since we've been able to join Deer Creek Malthouse at Two Rivers for this event and I know I'm excited to be back!

Membership renewals are live, so if you haven't yet, please renew! We're planning to update our homebrew supply shop sponsors with a current list of members after the meeting, and will ask that they purge the old lists at that time.

Thanks to everyone who joined us at the Lehigh Valley Brewer's Guild Beer Festival at SteelStacks in April. In addition to the roughly 70 beers provided by the guild members, we served 19 fantastic options from three jockey boxes, bottles, and a cask, much to the delight of the festival goers. Expect results for the 2023 Homebrewer of the Year competition at the meeting!

Reminder that HBoTY points are also awarded to those who participate in Big Brew at Yergey's on May 6th. Please register by April 26th, so we can send a finalized list to Jim and prepare ingredients (just bring your equipment). We hope you'll join us in brewing to support "She Nailed It", the all women nail-hammering relay competition in support of Habitat for Humanity of the Lehigh Valley. WLVR will be joining us to cover the event; bring some homebrew to share with each other and members of the public who drop by to watch the brew.

If you signed up for the first merchandise order in Feburary, hats ($20), shop shirts ($35), and hoodies ($30) will be available for pickup at the meeting; cash preferred. If you missed out, I'm sure we'll be doing another run soon, so talk to Rob to let him know you're interested.

See you in May,

Steve Anthony

LVHb Club President
