July 2024 Lehigh Valley Homebrewers Newsletter

Steve Anthony

Greetings Brewers,

Our meeting this month will be on Tuesday July 30th, at Sherman Street Brewing Co. in Allentown. Our meeting is starting early this month at 7pm, and we have a hard out at 9:30pm. Sherman Street will be hosting La Unica Taqueria's food truck, so come hungry!

For those of you participating in the July HBoTY event, remember to bring your Belgian Blonde 25A or Munich Helles 4A (bonus points). We will be collecting entries at the meeting, as there is no local homebrew competition this month where they can be judged.

Malt Madness registration is live! We'll be collecting entries in August so points earned from that competition will count toward August for HBoTY. Dan Miller, Dennis McWhite, and Joe Eberhardt are coordinating and looking for volunteers to help. See them, before they conscript you!

Clam Jam is wrapping up registration and final numbers for homebrew entries for their contest on August 25. If you haven't registered with them and are interested in coming out for this fantastic opportunity to pour for the public, please do so on their site, or on our events page, ASAP.

A reminder that if you are interested in donating beer for the celebration of Tiffany Becker's life in August, to start brewing and sign up on the events page. If you are unable to make the event that Friday and are still interested, we will work with those able to attend to transport your keg and serve on your behalf.

Thank you to everyone who came out for the picnic at the Gade's in June, and thank you to Bill and Deanna for hosting us at their home. The weather held out and there was lots of great food, beer and company!

Do you need a tasting cup that will be hard to lose, and harder to break? Rob put together an order for 8oz stainless steel carabiner cups, emblazoned with the club logo! These will be available at the July meeting for $10/ea.

Finally, the usual reminder that we've been looking for an alternative with a low barrier to entry for notifying those interested in news, festival opportunities, or event reminders, etc. outside of the monthly newsletter cycle. To this end, we've created the "LVHB News" Google Group. If you're interested, you should be able to search for lvhb-news@googlegroups.com in the Google Groups search and request to join.

See you Tuesday,

Steve Anthony

LVHb Club President
