June 2025 Lehigh Valley Homebrewers Newsletter

Updated: Jun 23

Greetings Brewers,

A reminder that our meeting will be on Tuesday, June 24th, at Lost Tavern Brewing in Hellertown, PA. We will be at the taproom, this changed from being the brew house. Remember to grab something to eat before the meeting, which as usual begins at 7:30PM

John and Marcie Litak are hosting a summer club picnic, Saturday June 28th at their home in Bethlehem. Beat the heat and register on the events page for swimming, food, drinks, and fun! Families welcome!

Thanks to everyone who came out to the release of the collaboration brew "Mash Point", the English Pub Ale brewed for Big Brew at Yergey Brewing, in support of the Jess Fin Foundation for brain tumor research. The beer was fantastic and there should still be some on tap, if you've yet to try it.

Keystone Hops has announced that the 30th edition of War of the Worts has been scheduled for Saturday, September 20th. Keep an eye on their site for registration details and deadlines to come, they always fill up quickly! I'm sure they'll need judges as well, and are working on potentially offering a prejudging session closer to the Lehigh Valley, so I hope you'll sign up to help if you're able.

Speaking of judging, we've confirmed our BJCP exam date for the morning of Saturday November 8th, so mark your calendars. Expect information about classes to show up on the website in the next month or so.

Finally, the usual reminder that we've been looking for an alternative with a low barrier to entry for notifying those interested in news, festival opportunities, or event reminders, etc. outside of the monthly newsletter cycle. To this end, we've created the "LVHB News" Google Group. If you're interested, you should be able to search for lvhb-news@googlegroups.com in the Google Groups search and request to join.

See you Tuesday,

Steve Anthony

LVHB Club President

Future Meetings:

Meetings are open to anyone (21 and older) who home brews (beer, wine, cider, mead) or is interested in learning about home brewing.  Our club has over 30 certified judges and several members who have "gone pro" by opening their own brewery, meadery, or distillery! - So bring your latest craft creation and get some constructive feedback and/or accolades!
