March 2023 Lehigh Valley Homebrewers Newsletter

Greetings Brewers,

Our meeting this month will be at Yergey Brewing in Emmaus. As they're not open to the public on Tuesdays, there will be no food truck, so either grab something to eat ahead of time or bring something with you. Note that we will be in the heated tent outside; Tango in the Taproom will be taking place inside, so please be respectful as you filter in to grab a beer.

Membership renewals are finally live, so please renew! We'd like to update our homebrew supply shop sponsors with a current list of members by the end of April.

The 2023 Homebrewer of the Year competition begins this month, so remember to bring your Irish Stout or any smoked beer style for bonus points. You do not have to preregister for this month's event, and one bottle is sufficient for judging, though we hope you bring extra to share. I know the winning brewers are always popular after the results are announced!

If you signed up for the first merchandise order last month, hats ($20), shop shirts ($35), and hoodies ($30) will be available for pickup at the meeting; cash preferred. If you missed out, I'm sure we'll be doing another run soon, so talk to Rob to let him know you're interested.

Spring has sprung and so have the festivals. There's an event every weekend in April, beginning with the 2022 Barrel Brew judging (and tasting) at Keystone Homebrew. Come try the Thai Triple the club brewed on the hottest day of the year, and check the Events page for information on all the happenings this month. Finally, a special thanks to Allegheny Creek Brewing Company and those club members who came out to complete RAMP training this month. I know I learned a lot and hope we'll be able to offer that again for members in the future!

See you Tuesday,

Steve Anthony

LVHb Club President

Future Meetings:

Meetings are open to anyone (21 and older) who home brews (beer, wine, cider, mead) or is interested in learning about home brewing.  Our club has over 30 certified judges and several members who have "gone pro" by opening their own brewery, meadery, or distillery! - So bring your latest craft creation and get some constructive feedback and/or accolades!
